You can also purchase event tickets without data. From the main voteMe menu, select option 3 (Buy a ticket). You will be shown available events with open ticket sales. Select the event, choose your ticket tier (VIP, Regular, Early Bird), confirm the price, and complete the MoMo payment — exactly the same flow as voting. Your ticket confirmation is sent via SMS with a 6-digit short code you can show at the gate.

At the gate you present your 6-digit ticket code. The gate scanner accepts both the code and a QR code from the confirmation SMS or email — whichever is more convenient.
voteMe USSD works on all three major networks in Ghana. Here is how payment varies by network:

If your MoMo wallet has insufficient funds, the vote or purchase will not complete and nothing will be deducted. You can top up and try again — there is no penalty for a failed attempt.
I dialled the code but got 'Invalid code'. What do I do?
Double-check you dialled *920*221# (not *920*17 3# or any variation with spaces). If it still fails, your network may be temporarily blocking USSD — wait 5 minutes and try again.
I was charged but my vote did not count.
This is very rare. Payment confirmation from Paystack arrives within 5 seconds. If more than 30 seconds pass with no confirmation SMS, your payment likely timed out and was not deducted. Check your MoMo statement. If a deduction happened but the vote is missing, contact the event organiser with your payment reference from the Paystack SMS.
Can I vote more than once for the same contestant?
Yes, for paid events you can vote as many times as you like — each dial is one additional vote. For election-style events each registered voter gets exactly one vote regardless of how many times they dial.
I do not have a MoMo wallet. Can I still vote?
You need a registered MoMo wallet for paid events. Registration is free at any MTN, Vodafone, or AirtelTigo service centre with a valid Ghana Card. For free (Hot) events no payment is required — you can vote via the voteme.live website without a wallet.
Can I vote from outside Ghana?
USSD voting only works with Ghanaian SIM cards inside Ghana. If you are in the diaspora, vote at voteme.live using your international debit or credit card via Paystack.
USSD is enabled automatically for every paid voting event on voteMe.live. There is nothing to configure — the moment you publish your event with paid voting, your contestants receive 4-letter USSD codes and voters can start dialling. The same shortcodes appear in Studio flyers and leaderboard displays automatically.
Revenue from USSD votes is split the same way as web votes: your percentage of total goes directly to your Paystack subaccount, and the platform fee is retained by voteMe. You see both streams in your Finance dashboard in real time.
