How to collect public nominations, deduplicate nominees, reconcile the pool, and promote finalists to contestants.
Nominations are an optional stage before voting opens. The public nominates people for your awards categories; you review and reconcile the pool; then you promote the finalists into contestants.
In your event settings, enable Nominations and set:
Phone number (E.164 format) is the hard deduplication key. Each person can only be nominated once per category per event.
When nominations are open, the public visits /events/[urlname]/nominate and fills in the nominee's name, phone number, and any other required fields. They can also add TikTok and Instagram handles to help with identification.
A soft duplicate warning appears if someone tries to nominate a person with the same phone number that already exists in that category.
Go to Events β Nominations in your dashboard. You will see a three-column Kanban:
Sometimes the same person is nominated under different names or phone numbers. Select multiple nominations and click Merge to create a Group. You choose the canonical name, phone, email, TikTok, and photo for the merged record.
Once you are satisfied with a Group (or a single nomination), click Promote. The system creates a Contestant document pre-filled with the canonical details. If the event is a paid voting event, the contestant will receive a short code automatically.
You can export the full nominee list as CSV, vCard (.vcf), Google Contacts CSV, or a print-friendly HTML page. Exports include name, phone (E.164), email, TikTok handle, category, and date first nominated.
Your event can run up to 3 nomination rounds. Each round is independent β you can accept new nominations for a second round after promoting the first round's finalists. Set the current round in your nominations settings.
