Version 1.0

voteMe.live is operated out of Ghana and processes payments through Paystack. We never share voter details with organizers beyond what the event's registration settings authorize. Tickets are signed with a rotatable HMAC key so a compromised scanner cannot forge entries. Read more in our privacy policy and how it works.

Creating your first event

Getting your first event live on voteMe.live takes about 10 minutes. This guide walks you through each step.

Step 1: Choose your event type

On the New Event page, you choose between three event types:

  • Voting β€” online voting with categories and contestants. Can be paid (awards-style), election-style, or free (hot).
  • Ticketing β€” sell event tickets with multiple tiers. No contestants or voting.
  • Hybrid β€” combines voting and ticketing on the same event.

You cannot change the event type after creation. Plan this carefully.

Step 2: Fill in the basics

  • Event name β€” this becomes your URL (e.g. voteme.live/events/your-event-name)
  • Bio β€” a description of the event shown on the public page
  • Hero image β€” the banner image (recommended 1920Γ—1080)
  • Event logo β€” shown top-left on the event page
  • Provider/organiser name β€” your name or organisation

Step 3: Configure voting (if applicable)

Choose your vote type:

  • Paid (awards-style) β€” voters pay per vote. Set the price per vote and currency.
  • Election-style β€” registered voters get one free vote per contestant. Set the security check level.
  • Free (hot) β€” anyone can vote, unlimited, no payment.

Optionally schedule a voting window with start and end times.

Step 4: Set up voter rules (election events only)

Choose whether voter registration is free or paid. If free, remember the 25-voter limit β€” upgrade slots are available if you need more.

Step 5: Review and accept contract terms

For paid events, review the revenue share (10% for paid voting, 5% for ticketing, nominations, and paid registrations) and accept the terms.

Step 6: Publish or save as draft

Click Publish to make your event visible. Or save as a draft and come back later. A draft event is not visible to the public.

After publishing

  • Add categories and contestants from your dashboard
  • Upload additional images to the gallery
  • Set up Studio designs
  • Invite team members
