Set up ticket tiers, sell tickets online or via USSD, scan QR codes at the gate, and manage refunds and transfers.
voteMe.live supports multi-tier ticketing for any event. You can sell VIP, Regular, Early Bird, and any number of custom tiers with different prices, quantities, and perks.
From your event dashboard, go to Tickets and create your tiers. Each tier has:
You can create as many tiers as you need. Each tier sells independently β selling out VIP does not affect Regular availability.
voteMe.live takes 5% of gross ticket revenue. You keep 95%. The split happens automatically at the Paystack level β your share goes directly to your event's subaccount.
Buyers visit your event's tickets page, select tiers and quantities, fill in their name, email, and phone, and pay via Paystack (Mobile Money, Visa/Mastercard). They receive a confirmation email with:
Tickets have a 6-digit numeric short code (e.g. 482910) used as a fallback at the gate when QR scanning is unavailable. This is different from contestant short codes, which are 4-letter alphabetic codes (e.g. ABCD) used for USSD voting. The two are completely separate systems.
Buyers can purchase tickets via USSD without internet access. They dial the event USSD number, select the ticket tier, confirm the quantity, and pay via Mobile Money. An SMS receipt is sent after successful purchase.
Every ticket has a signed QR code generated with HMAC-SHA256. The signature cannot be forged, and each QR is unique to the ticket holder and event. Key rotation is supported β if you ever need to rotate your signing key, all existing tickets remain valid.
Use the scanner in your dashboard (Events β [event] β Scanner) on any phone or tablet. The scanner works offline using IndexedDB β scans queue locally and sync when connectivity returns. Your team members with scanner access can use it from their own devices simultaneously.
Hybrid events can combine voting and ticketing. Voters cast votes online while ticket buyers attend the physical event. The same Paystack subaccount handles both payment streams.
